December 2022

As Christmas fast approaches we find ourselves writing the final updates of 2022 and look forward to 2023.

We find the unit full to capacity both internally and externally. The last few days saw us take the largest yacht since our inception enter the premises. We had two cranes (Evans Crane Hire and King Lifting) to manoeuvre the Volvo 70 from the river into the main facility. The exercise was overseen by the yachts project manager and a team of twenty supporting the yacht, which was finally packed away at 4:30pm yesterday (14th December). The Volvo had been shipped from the US and then towed to Lymington, floated under the train bridge and lifted onto site. We captured some great imagery which can be seen in this article and on our Instagram pages.

This is not only a great project to be involved in, but brings back the large scale yachting to the site, which originally built these yachts over ten years ago under its former ownership. Our aim is to continue this revival over the coming months.

Aside from the aforementioned project, we continue with three refits and restorations of Nordic Folkboats, and have a beautiful XOD inside being prepared for next season along with numerous boats in for winter storage and preparations for 2023. Our Nordic Folkboats finished the season off by winning their class at The Solent Circuit proving our pedigree as a class specialist. The season produced excellent results in the UK and Europe.

UK National Championship – 1st
British OPEN Championship – 2nd
Royal Solent Regatta – 2nd
Solent Circuit – 1st
UK Folkboat Week – 5th

Jaegerspris Grand Prix- Ranking Regatta (Denmark) – 3rd

We wish everyone a great festive period and a happy start to 2023. Please do get in touch for any of our services – All the best from everyone here at Europa Composites.
